Video switching with receiver abd tv video HELP!!killabee1996
Dec 26, 2001 2:22 AM
I was wondering if there is a way to be able to switch mode on the receiver and as soon as you do that, the video on the TV changes to the corresponding program. example, if I am watching my satellite, and want to watch a movie on dvd, i change the dvd input on receiver, but I have to do it also on the TV to get to the dvd video, which is 4 on mine. Is it possible that when I switch receiver inputs, the TV switches automatically? I am using a Yamaha RX v1200 with a 32 XBR wega TV(first models). Anyone wanna help me please?

This is the reason why those that are interested in "user-friendliness" opt to route their video signals thru the A/V receiver or pre-pro. There is however a restriction ... which is that you must use the same type of interconnect for each video signal. Otherwise, it defeats the whole idea for you'll once again have to switch the TV to a different input when changing sources. Hopefully, you'll be able to use all S-video cables. If you have a VCR in the system which doesn't have a S-video output, you can get an adaptor to convert it's composite video out to an S-vid one.

If you have any further questions -
