Dec 30, 2001 4:22 PM | | Last summer I bought a Mac 1700 receiver on eBay and gave it to my girl-friend's daughter as a wedding present. (I discussed it here. Some of you might remember.)
Anyway, it's developed a problem. She says that it's lost volume. She has to turn the volume control up at least half-way to get any sound. Not good!
Any ideas as to what it could be?
She's up in Portland, and I'm in San Francisco. Would it make sense to send it to AudioClassics or to have a local Portland store check it out? There are two Mac stores in Portland. One says that they only service equipment that they've sold (?). The other has a service department, but is closed for the holidays.
