Dec 30, 2001 7:06 PM | | I have a pair of Mackie DJ active loudspeakers. I want to purchase a DVD player, a preamp or possibly a avr. Just not sure possibly also want to be able to hook up laptop and play mp3 as well as mp3 discs. May also want to be able to switch between running loudspeakers and 5 channel surround. The mackies just need to tap into audio out rca's. Any input would be great. Budget???? I also want to go with a projector possibly infocus. But have not a clue of the tech that is out there today. thanks for any info bryan |

Dec 31, 2001 1:16 PM | | First things first. First you need a receiver. Check out Marantz 7200 or the 5200. They have preamp out for your mackies and amp out for your non active speakers. Has DVD input and aux input for the Laptop. Most every receiver has all the inputs you need for your configuration...just make sure the receiver you get has preamp out.
