| Denon AVR 1601 and Sony KV32 FX65 | Goncalo Aug 23, 2002 9:41 AM | | Hi.
Can anybody explain me why is it that i ear a lot of noise (like that static background noise: schhhhhhh) when i listen the sound of a TV channel through my Denon AVR 1601?
I do get to ear what's on the TV channel, is just that that background noise is so loud that turns the experience completely useless :(
The TV (out) and AVR (in) are connected with a normal RCA cable.
When i play CDs and DVDs on the DVD player, the sound comes out great. The problem is only when i try to listen from the TV.
Thanks for your help.

I don't think that noise is to unusual from TV A/V outs. I wish you would have said what your TV source was, cable/satelite/antenna. If you have a cable box or satelite, use their outputs instead. If not, is your output level variable with the TV's volume control? If so, try turning the volume down to see if the noise goes down. You can try higher end cables, but I suspect the noise is coming from the TV. If you have a VCR, you can also use it's outputs as an alternative. I would only use the TV's outputs as a last resort. Even on good sets like Sony & JVC the A/V outs are inferior to the before mentioned components. |
