Van Alstine Transcendence 7 Best Preamp Uncer $3000?William Eustis

Just thought I'd start a little controversy. I recently bought a Van Alstine T7. It is the most transparent pre I've ever heard. It has a real 3D sound stage, on some live recordings it becomes readily apparent that the singer is in front of the other musicians and/or the drummer in back. This, and the incredible dymnamics of the phono stage make this one heck of a preamp.

I also purchased the new Van Alstine Transcendence 7 preamp and have to fully agree with what William has said. Prior to the T7 I had the AVA FetValve preamp and really liked it. The Transcendence 7, however, is much much more refined (it's also five years newer than my FetValve preamp).

The T7 is much more open in sound, with better resolution. The sound stage is more accurate, with no one group of sounds being forced to the front or back. The low ends on the T7 are more controlled than the FetValve. As William said the T7 is a very transparent preamp.

I still have my original FetValve preamp and have had the opportunity to demo both to audio friends of mine and unanimously they agree that Van Alstine's new Transcendence 7 preamp clearly outshines his previous top of the line FetValve preamp.

My T7 is in the smaller chassis without tone controls and has an extremely reasonable cost of $1498, including the phono section. Without the phono the cost is $299 less. I believe the Van Alstine T7 is one of the best values around.

I just ordered a T7. This will be my first venture into tube pre-amps. I'm looking forward to hearing the difference it will make in my system.

Hi,lej. Saw your post on AVA T7;wonder if it would be a good match with my NAD C370(sonically)?? I use Tube Output stage CDP(Ah4000 with Amperex 7308 tubes,Upsampling installed);wonder if T7's transparency + my Upsampling CDP would be TOO TRANSPARENT(sterile sounding)?? .Forgive me if I sounded so naiive, just far behind audio knowledge that is. I appreciate very much of your opinion ,suggestions and advises and thanks in advance

Simon PS:I live in Taiwan;so it would be an online purchase of the T7 without auditioning
