| Outlaw audio mono blocks | swgiust Oct 16, 2003 8:12 AM | | Thanks for all the replies to my previous post. I have narrowed my amp search to Outlaw audio. They make the model
770, a 7 channel, 200wpc amp that has received very good reviews. But, they also make the model m 200w mono block.
This amp is on sale for virtually the same price as the
770. Which means I can buy 7 mono blocks for my 7.1 system
at the same price as the 770 amp. Speaking with the tech
people at Outlaw, they have me thinking towards the mono
blocks for the following reasons. 7 true channels with no
cross talk, each channel has it's own true power supply and
toloid transformer, and because of that, more headroom. Some may suggest that 200wpc is overkill, but i have a large room and have pushed my 120wpc reciever to it's limits. Any thoughts? suggestions?? Thanks. |

One good thing about separates is that if one dies you can just disconnect it and still listen to music from the other 6. Of course i think your electric bill will be higher too. Good luck and hope everything works out for you. |
