MERIDIAN PREAMPjamesw20m3
Oct 24, 2003 5:51 PM
Looking at several preamps to compliment McIntosh 7602. I've heard that Theta and Proceed are the best musically. I must buy second hand due to cost. Am also considering the Meridian 561. Bryston is out due to no video switching. How musical is the meridian. Two channel is extremely important. Currently using Sunfire Ulitmate Receiver with no sep. amp.

Thanks

Merridian is definitely in the same performance range as Proceed, some would argue better even. But Merridian HT are integrated systems that go to powered speakers. I'm not sure if you can use them with any other equipment easily. Check with a dealer who sells Merridian or someone who actually owns some to see if this preamp will mix with other equipment.

Krell is a definite contender if you see any out there. And it has excellent video switching as well as all around performance.
