| digital output or audio output?? | george2 Apr 10, 2001 1:30 PM | | I am hooking up a cd player (arcam alpha mcd) to an avr reciever (marantz sr-19ex). Should I be connecting the digital output of the cd to the digital input of the reciever or should I be hooking up the audio output of the cd to the cd input of the reciever? Or both? I'm clueless. In reality, it will be difficult to determine. If you try one then the other, they will probably sound different because the volume will change, making accurate comparison problematic. It will be your preference. |

| re: digital output or audio output?? | js Apr 11, 2001 9:28 AM | | try making both connections. if your receiver is capable of analog direct, i dont beleive the digital connection will allow for this. also recording from, cd's or dvd pcm tracks,(i beleive) requires the analog connection. unless ive missed a setting on my initial receiver setup, i think the above is true. anyway, making both connections solved my problems. |
