Switching coaxial digital linesJoboo

I'm trying to figure out how to get my one coaxial digital input to accept both my digital cable box and my DVD player. Is there a switch out there I could use or maybe even just a Y-Adapter of some sort? Neither my cable box nor my DVD player have optical outputs. I have the Dolby Digital/DTS decoding in my receiver, so I grabbed a DVD Player (Toshiba SD-1200) without decoding. Therefore, the 5.1 output is not an option.

Any ideas? If all else fails, I'll just run the system of the regualr RCA outputs.

Thanks in Advance

I have had luck taking a single digital coax output and putting a Y-adapter on it to send it to 2 places without any difficulty, so you might have luck. Since they aren't that expensive, I would try it before going to analog RCA. All you would need is a Y-adapter with a male output and two female inputs. Monster cable sells em. I guess things would go crazy if both sources played at the same time...

The other option would be to buy an outboard DAC which can switch multiple COAX inputs and has a COAX output... Try ebay and see if there is a Parasound (DAC-1100HD) , Adcom or Pioneer unit that might do the trick.
