| S-Video to Component video. Worth the money? | Robin Apr 14, 2001 4:24 AM | | I have my dvd player hooked up to my television with an S-video cable. I know that there is a difference between s-video and component video cables. My problem is my dvd player and my television are about 26 feet apart, so an s-video cable cost me $75 and a component video cable will cost me closer to $300 (canadian). My question is, although I know component is better, is it $200 better? |

| Yes and no | GCM Apr 16, 2001 6:43 AM | | Yes it may be worth it. Component eliminated a color bleed problem I had with s-video. You shouldn't have to spend anywhere near $300 dollars for 26 feet of cable. Eyespy has posted many times about his inexpensive do-it-yourself runs. |
| Yes and no | Robin Apr 17, 2001 10:52 AM | | I am in Oshawa, Ontario, and I checked everywhere in town here and no-one has cables that long. I went to a high end shop in Whitby ( the next city over ) and they carry them but they were more than $200 ( not exactly sure of the price anymore) ( Canadian) Do you recall where the post are from Eyespy? |
| Let me help... | Monstrous Mike Apr 17, 2001 11:37 AM | | What you could use is three thirty foot runs of either RG-59 or RG-6 and 6 F-type to RCA adapters. That's a component video cable set for less that $50Cdn. |
