Longest length for power cable?Jihad

Might have to go over 10ft with an extension for power strip - is this a problem(ie noise, RF pickup)? Subjective & Evidence-based replys welcome.

Nope, just make sure the extension cord is rated for 15 amps as is your power strip is.

Noise, etc, won't be a problem, unless you already have one. Just get one that is properly rated and carries a UL listing.

Given the power cable has already travelled goodness knows how many miles from the power station via assorted overhead and underground links and various substations, plus twice round your house I wouldn't worry too much. The only major improvement you'll make is with a decent RF filter / spike suppressor and power conditioner, but given that any half decent hifi power supply has a pretty good setup internally to deal with this stuff I wouldn't bother . All bets are off if you live next to a huge dirty universal electric motor being regularly turned on and off - but I bet you don't. Or if your neighbour is a DIY freak and has a particularly ancient unsuppressed drill in which case it would be cheaper to buy him a new one.......
