| Question for Nordost Red Dawn Users | Mwalsdor@cscc.edu Nov 19, 2001 10:52 AM | | My buddie has Nordost Red Dawns on the top post of his Silverline Sonatinas, with a homebrew doubled-up Kimber Kable on the bottom post driven by the AES Super Amp in Triode. While my Sonatina+VAC combo images&soundstages better, images from his systm have a certain quality of not more air surrounding them but the DECAY of those images. The overall depth is much better IMS, but specifically the DECAY of images is more easily followed or traced in his. I had principally associated this effect to the Dennis Boyle Advantage interconnects or the Melos (tube) pre-amp (I use the FT Audio passive), but with the Nordost out of his system, so was the effect. Is this an artifact of the Nordost Red Dawn?
MikE (... while this post is directed toward Nordost/Red Dawn users that may have relevant experiance to relate, those that wish to add their "customery contributions" are welcome... as this will aid in the digestion of their food stuffs...) |

I found no audible differences between the Red Dawn, SPM, or Blue Haven speaker wires. You might consider going back to your friend's system and determining if your perception of the possible Red Dawn sonic artifact can survive the introduction of a blind listening comparison. This would be most interesting.
