Why bother with a new moderator?Musika

Why not just rename this forum "Scientific Facts Only" and see how quickly they crumble without the voices of reason chiming in to keep them occupied? Gawd knows we keep 'em in business...

While they're busy comparing boring (but essential!) test-based factoids, the rest of us could actually enjoy some music and compare our own notes elsewhere. Not only could we then create some reasonable conversation; by disappearing from "the debate team" we could leave them to their studies...undisturbed. ("Undisturbed" may be a poor choice of adjective in this case...but you get the picture...)

reasonable: 'possessing sound judgment' (Webster's-no pun intended). How does reason ('the thing that makes the fact intelligible'-Webster's again) figure into 99.9% of audio-hype?

There is nothing I would call 'convincing proof' to either side. The yeahsayers offer over observations, which near as I can tell, are generally overstated. I assume a 'big difference' between cables is measured within the small differences a cable may introduce.

I take such testimonials with a dose of salt.

If someone says they can hear no difference, I tend to belive them outright.

If someone hears the difference and does not wish to pay for (admittedly) small
improvements avaiable, I respect them. Thats a value judgement. I dont want to make such calls for others, anymore than I want them made for myself.

Then you run into folks, with zero experiece who insist there is no difference, demand proof, offer none. They go off into bigfoot and alien abduction. Such rhetoric is 'supposed' to be responsive and 'equal' to first hand experience. Simple enough, till they expect respect.

I agree with everything you wrote, JoeW. In other words, it sounds "reasonable" (no Webster's or any other source of proof of actual, definite meaning of this word...sorry!) to me...

"Then you run into folks, with zero experiece who insist there is no difference, demand proof, offer none."

I haven't run into anyone fitting this description yet, though I have encountered many self-proclaimed golden ears who insist almost everything makes a difference, offer no proof, but demand proof that they are wrong.
That's funnyGCM

Facts don't bother you at all do they.

>Facts don't bother you at all do they.

When assumption is palmed off as fact, it bothers me a great deal.

I notice that you provided nothing but an insult.

"I notice that you provided nothing but an insult."

And I noticed that insults, attacks (or whatever one chooses to call them) are conveniently overlooked (read: NOT deleted)...when they're made by an objectivist, that is.
It often looks that way, doesn't it? (nt)JoeW

Yep...but I can't prove it. Darn. (nt)Musika
