I've got a Velodyne VLF1012. Will i GET A BETTER BASS RESPONSE WITH A Y ADAPTER??

No, you will not. But you may get a 2db increase in volume from the sub.

Ditto.

Do you find that you get better responses from people IRL by shouting questions? Or is it just us computer folk that get this neat benefit?

I agree with both of the above posts.

I have only the right input going to the amp that drives my SVS, 2dB isn't going to make that much of a difference and the quality is better.
