| Speaker cable: what happens if it is TOO thick, or........ | caldera Jun 26, 2002 9:49 PM | | ......too thin?
Cable length: 6 feet.
Power input: 50 watts into a 8 ohm speaker load.
Cable type: just plain stranded stuff, like Radio Shack sells.
And I don't mean 18gauge versus 14 gauge. I mean the extremes, like what would happen (electrically speaking) if I used 8 gauge OR 24 gauge cable. I am trying to establish some solid points of reference.
Thanks a lot.

8 ga may not fit your terminals:) but if you reduce the ga at the terminals, nothing will happen. |

You'll want to read the text to fully understand the chart. With only 8 feet of wire and 8 ohm speakers, it would have to be pretty small to make an audible difference. |
| That is an EXCELLENT wire website, with no audio-voodoo junk | caldera Jun 28, 2002 10:32 AM | | And written by someone who worked with true high end equipemnt on a daily basis. Very refreshing to read.
Thanks,
