This message board is deadskeptic
Jul 8, 2002 4:23 AM
Before the format changed last year, and before people had to register, this message board was one of the livliest and most interesting I visited and certainly by far the best on this site. It's true that occasionally some of the people who visited were rude, and even insulting, but most of those got shouted down and left of their own accord rather quickly. Occasionally, one or two would get banned. Since the change, this whole place has died. The heated debates, the large number of participants, and all the things that made this fun are gone. The managers of this board are to be condemned for wrecking a good thing for no reason at all. And because of it, I no longer even would consider patronizing any of their advertisers.
Your lame post is part of the problem ... not a solutionRichard Greene

Let's see now ...

(Q) How does a post by "skeptic" whining about how good this forum used to be ... make this a better place?

(A) It doesn't
My post was an observation. Yours is an insult. Case provedskeptic

Neither does your reply.

At least one thing hasn't changed, we still get assanine comments here.
You call my comments "assanine" (that's spelled "asinine", fool)Richard Greene

You believe the forum is not as good as it used to be.

So why don't you make it better by contributing something other than a whining post complaining about the forum.
And then you added a second whining post complaining
about me! If that's all you can add to this forum,
why not go somewhere else and whine?
skeptic's value added to this forum from his two posts =
zero

RG replies:
Since you have nothing to say about audio in your posts, the only possible subject for debate was the value added by your first post.
That would be zero.
Ditto for your second post.

You wrote that you thought heated debates were "fun".
Have you suddenly changed your mind?

If you would prefer heated debates on audio issues,
you'll have to include some thoughts about audio in your post. (I'll assume you know something about audio and would like to share your knowledge and experiences with others, although that is not obvious from your two posts).

And you spelled "asinine" wrong.
How appropriate!

... You dont have to know how to spell ass, to recognize one. This board is WAY slanted in favor of naysayers, which is a pity. It devalues their opinions, which are very worthy of consideration.
The track record speaks for itself. Naysayers cannot hold their own - they need special rules. Thats the message that Adam has sent out repeatedly. Oh well.
You guys may think you're 'winning the battle' here, but you've lost the war. You got a biased modereator on your side, and that speaks volumes over typos.
Then again, who cares?

I don't know, I scrolled down and saw some very long threads. What are you expecting?

I have been visiting all of the boards on this site for well over a year. Ive posted a couple of times and received useful advice that has not only helped me, but also saved me a ton of cash. Most of the time, though, I just read, learn--and occasionally get a good laugh. I can honestly say that this is one of the few places I can go and be a part of intelligent conversation (or in my case--watch it take place)I appreciate all the guys on this board and plan one day to be able to help others with questions with the same honesty and unselfishness that I have received here. By the way--I have not seen good-hearted, heated debate anywhere like on the interconnects board since philosophy in college...everyone keep up the good work!

A year ago, after almost a week, this posting would have been halfway down on the next page already, although I must admit that a lot of it would have been WW's nonsense such as a long thread about flipping coins or some other such foolish thing.

RG, I spelled ass-a-nine the way I did specifically for you.
It fits you like a glove.

Yes, it's dead, dead, dead.

RIP Musika.
