| Shameless plug for TAC | RobotCzar Sep 28, 2003 5:36 PM | | A new issue of "The Audio Critic" has just come out. This is remarkable for a couple of reasons:
1) New issues of TAC have been comming out at a rate less than once a year. I think it has been less than a year since the last issue so maybe they are, at last, getting on a reasonable publishing schedule.
2) TAC is proably the very last audio magazine that hasn't given in to the crazy high-end audio mania of pretending things are true that can't be true (i.e., it is the last subjectivist magazine).
Things of interest in this issue:
1) It is completely (well, mainly) edited by Ivan Berger.
2) The demise of the "Hip-Boots" column is announced (three issues after it was discontinued). Boo... but read this column for a healty view of today's popular audio magazines.
3) A new component from Sony is reviewed, a disc player/digtial amp combo that may be the wave of the future (for the mass market anyway).
4) Tom Nousaine deals with the "break in" audio urban legend. This short article would be of interest to readers of the cable forum. |
