Either you really do not know, or you are wanting to start a very long thread of to and fro arguments of who is right.

Bottom line: there is no hard evidence that cables do make a difference. No one has been able to demonstrate this in any controlled environment. Plenty of people here will tell you they are electrical engineers, so they will provide their 'expert' opinion. Judge for yourself.

If you like the looks, go for that. Personally, I think the more you spend, the more you wasted. Better to spend the money on music or movies!

Another alternative is to find a place that is willing to let you take cables home and try for yourself. Keep in mind though that your decision will already be affected since you know the new cables are in place. That is called 'biased,' and affects the outcome.

I have no proof that they do or do not make a difference. This is just my opinion. However, there are many that share my opinion (I hope) so that must tell you something!

Good luck,

I really meant it. I'm usually running around stirring up a bunch of trouble. But it was refreshing to see a truly well thought out response like that.

You even covered the base that the initial poster could have just been trying to cause trouble like I usually am.

People like you put people like me to shame. Keep up the good work.

Gentleman....I posted this inquiry prior to reading on regarding the subject. My mistake!!!! I'm glad "the boys" didn't hammer me and each other for such a simple minded question. I appreciate you sticking your neck out sofsolder with your responce.
I've been using Carol 12g wire for my speakers all of 15yrs and the factory issue ic's. Happy with the performance. Just upgraded amp and pre and started reading all the posts regarding better sound from better cable. I went out on the preverbial limb and purchased a used set of AQ MidnightII and used AQ Python ic, pre to amp, and used Blue Heaven ic for CD player. I immediatly noticed wider soundstage especialy mids and better bass responce. Parden my infintile discription. So I started wondering if this myth is justified or were my older cables just that, old. I'm quite pleased with my system as it sounds now, so $300 worth of used cables to me was worth every penny. To get caught up in this constant upgrade for the ultimate sound I'll leave that for those with larger wallets and even larger opinions.
