| MONSTER CABLE SHOOTOUT | Garon Oct 17, 2003 9:43 AM | | I have a dilemma. I need to decide a speaker cable (23 ft) to my 3000 dollar music system (Rotel cd player and amp, Amphion (award-winning) bookshelf speakers). Right now I have two choices: The M1.2s or the M2.2s. I hve a small room so the thickness of the M2.2s is making lean towards M1.2s. On the other hand, I can afford the M2.2s and don't want to sacifice performance. Addionally, some people like the Reference (Z2,Z3) series better but I have read a lot of negative reviews about them. So give me your opinion: M1.2s or M2.2s. Keep in mind that I don't have a Mark And Levinson cd player or B&W Nautilus speakers. (Please don't suggest any other brand like Kimber or whatever, my minds is set on Monster Cable, partly because my fav hifi store doesn't sell any other cable brand) |

All you really need to do is to go to your local Home Depot, or similar, and pick up your wire there.
There is no need to pay a premium for unverifiable advertizing claims. And monster cable is nothing more than WAY overpriced standard wire anyway. Places sell the stuff becaue of the huge mark-up and all the contests run mby Monster, which includes a free trip to stay in their castle for a week.
I like to use low-voltage landscape wiring. It's available through 12 guage(AWG).
