OK to Biwire with Kimber 4TC?Prefuse
Oct 26, 2003 10:41 PM
I got a used pair of B&W CDM1SE's and was thinking of bi-wiring them. I'm currently using Kimber 4TC that has 8 braided wires, 4 for black and 4 for red on each ends. Is it okay to just use 2 wires in each binding post to bi-wire them? Thanks.

Sounds like you have 8TC, not 4TC, based on their website descriptions.

Yeah, you can probably get away with it.

If you don't want to mess this wire up, you can also go to your local hardware supplier and get generic 12 AWG stuff and build a set on the cheap.

Ray sent me a postcard from Maui suggesting that you use more 4TC and not 12 AWG from Home Depot. He could use a few extra bucks to help pay for the plane ticket home.

(Bruce, where are those emoticons?)
