I just moved into a new apartment, and I am looking for a good solution to organize all my loose random A/V cables. Reccomendations or links to any good storage products for this job would be greatly appreciated- thanks!

You can hide the wires in tubing made for that purpose. I'm not concerned about the way the wires look in my system, so I don't use tubing, but it may be a solution for you.

Radio Shack sells 5' lengths of 3/4" split tubing for about $5 for holding cables. You may have to cut and fit it to your requirements. Radio Shack's plastic wire ties can be used if you need to tie the tubing or cables to the back of the equipment cabinet or rack. Keep power cords seperate from the cables.

I have found it helpful to use screw eyes, available from hardware stores, underneath the back of shelves in my rack. If you want to use screw eyes, drill very shallow holes in the wood, and twist the screw eyes the rest of the way in with your fingers or plyers. Loop cable ties through the screw eyes and run the cables and/or tubing through these loops.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, but I'm actually looking for a storage solution for various cables that aren't currently hooked up to my home audio system... I have about 100 or so various a/v cables and adaptors I use for different projects and until know i've just kept them in a big box in my closet, which is a nightmare when trying to find the right cable or adapter in a huge tangled mess of wires. I was wondering if anyone had any good organizational solutions for this purpose...

thanks again-
