| Cube | Robert Stevens Apr 7, 2001 9:38 AM | | Anyone seen Cube? This movie is better than 90% of the $50million+ movies produced every year. You should see this movie at least once. I don't want to give away any of the plot, but it explores human instincts. |
| re: Cube | Daigoro Apr 7, 2001 11:03 AM | | Like a really gory episode of The Twilight Zone. I loved The Cube for its sheer cheeziness and moxy. Now there's a movie with absolutely no filler.
Another good low-budget flick is a Spanish movie called Thesis. It's a very intense movie about a college student who is doing her thesis on violence in media and stumbles across a snuff film ring. Very well done. Better than 8mm IMHO.
Also be sure to see the original Dutch version of The Vanishing. It's a perfect Hitchcock-style film with one of the best endings ever. |
| Wow! | EdwinGene Apr 7, 2001 11:50 AM | | Someone else who has actually seen the Dutch version of "The Vanishing". Much better than the American remake. |
| re: Cube | GeogeJ Apr 9, 2001 3:07 AM | | I am really hesitant about seeing any movies on VHS nowadays, but I will admit Cube wasnt too bad. |
| I rented it on DVD (nt) | Daigoro Apr 9, 2001 11:56 AM | | |
| re: Cube | Arnold Apr 9, 2001 5:46 AM | | Oh yes! I´ve seen it and I liked it!!! I actually think that movie is one of the most disturbing movies I´ve ever seen (that might say more about me than about the movie :-))
If you like movies that are a bit different and not 100% mainstream, check it out. I also recommend the movie Pi. |
