Opinions on 'FINDING FORRESTER' with Sean Connery?Dangling Participle

I liked this film, but not in a way to 'rave' about it. I thought that it was well executed, but it was shot in basically 2 or 3 locations it seemed, making it seem like a 'low budget' production with not much scenery change. The story was nice though, and all in all, this is a good film. Definitely worth a rental, but not to own, unless you are a major Connery fan IMHO. What did you think about it?

Well see, I thought the amount of extras and the outstanding transfer make it a good buy if you can get it for around 17.00. I do agree that it wasn't all that it was cracked up to be I expected more quips and advice from connery similar to pacino and o'donnell in Scent of a woman.
Odd point but: The Hans Zimmer -like themes???Kam

Very odd point i know but:
I may have to see it (hear it) again, but in the scene where connery is riding away on the bike at the end, the music accompanying this scene sounded remarkably like You're So Cool from True Romance. Did anyone else pick up on that?

it was actually the theme song from terrence malick's "badlands" which hans zimmer borrowed heavily from for "true romance" b/c tarantino wrote T.R. as an homage to Badlands. it appears a few times in the film and i can think of no reason for it to be there.

Thanks so much! Not a big deal, but was just one of those things bugging me. have to rent badlands now and get the original take on the story and music. (although i'm sure it can be said that malik borrowed from soneone else's story for badlands).

badlands is based on the true story of the charlie starkweather murders. there were many films which were also based on this american mythology (the sadist and others).

...on the movie. I'm a S.C. fan and renting it was good enough. Not a keeper for me.
I liked the actor Rob Brown...what a great performance for his first movie.
I would like to see him in future films.
I thought it was one of Connery's better peformances ntBrotherman-5th floor
