Jul 27, 2003 12:17 PM | | it kind of reminds me of mr biswas, but in a hip and funny way .... teenager from orange county wants to be a writer, lives with highly dysfunctional family (as u can imagine with jack black as his slacker brother ... reminiscent of john belushi in animal house) who dreams of going to stanford as his escape from his personal hellish life - but mishap after mishap prevents him from achieving his dream (superb cast with big name cameos, lily tomlin, chevy chase, kevin kline) - colin hanks (as in sire of tom) has the lead, with john lithgow ... it is a surprisingly clever movie that is most entertaining - i highly recommend it for a good time |
