It took basically til the end to get the movie, and I admit to being confused for a good majority of the film, but it wasn't the confused "oh you got me" it was more "it took two hours to get to that?" kind of confused if you see the difference. There was a great deal of build up and I found the end to be less than I expected.
However, that being said, it did lead to a bit of a discussion afterwards which you don't always get with today's slew of blockbusters. It was a much more cerebral experience than a visceral one.
The sound was pretty decent. If you like space films like 2001 (which I didn't enjoy) or The Sphere, you may enjoy it but don't go in expecting Alien.
