| Two rentals to avoid!! | Kam Aug 13, 2003 8:37 AM | | House of a Thousand Corpses - was over at a friends who got this reccomended from a usually accurate source saying it was good, but wow. we could not finish it. had to turn it off was so bad. was ripping off elements of texas chainsaw along with pretty much every other horror movie without adding or bringing anything new to the table. even those in the group under the influence thought it horrible.
How to lose a guy in ten days - went home for the weekend and my sisters rented this. wow. truly horrific but in that train wreck kind of way that you want to look out of horror and then feel cheapened and bad after subjecting yourself to it when you know it would've been much better to just look away and pray for the survivors rather then relish in the pain. characters aren't even one-dimensional they're so empty and predictable. I hope they don't make any more of these stupid "bet for love" movies anymore. although adam goldberg (from saving prvt ryan and Chandler's psycho roomate episode from friends which i know troy doesn't watch so i added the spr reference as well. haha, j/k) has a few funny lines in it, it's not worth wasting your money on. unless you're forced into it by a significant other and get some some for subjecting yourself to this crap, avoid it. and even if so, try and substitute at least something enjoyable in the romantic comedy genre like an audrey hepburn movie instead of this shite.
peace

| How to lose a guy in ten days | Learned24get Aug 13, 2003 10:25 AM | | its been a while since i saw it, but i dont recall it being as bad as you describe (better than Two Weeks Notice, definitely).... i think i remember being pleasantly surprised, particulary with kate hudson (as her movie "almost famous" kind of left me with a bad taste in my mouth), or maybe thinking its not bad for an evening at home with PPV .... anyhow, imho i would hardly classify it as a train wreck |
