This is coming from a guy who generally enjoys a comic book superhero story regardless of how bad it is (I even found the Hulk to be somewhat entertaining). However, the chemistry between Afleck and Garner was attrocious and 'love-story' story line was just plain cheezy. Of all the movies that I've seen this summer, this one had to rank as the biggest disappointment. I really was hoping for more from this one... |

Maybe if you know absolutely nothing about the Daredevil or Elektra characters from the comics, then maybe you might have a tough time with this movie. If you were expecting some more light hearted fair like Spiderman then I could see being disapopinted because it is a much darker film. If you hate Ben Affleck, why would you even bother seeing this film?
Honestly though, given the Directors lack of experience in this genre and the budget limitations (1/2 the budget of Spiderman), I think they did an admirable job. The story was engaging, the interaction between Affleck and Garner was good (I think they had good chemistry), Colin Farrell was just nuts, all good. The only disappopinting things for me was the Kingpin and that was only a minor thing and the effect loud noises had on Daredevil - which didn't seem to be applied consistently or wasn't explained well enough - and the scene with DD and the flaming pool tables in the Bar was unnecessary and not very well done. Otherwise, this movie was rock solid IMHO.
But to each their own. At least the DVD sounded awesome!
