Aug 19, 2003 8:09 AM | | In the Classic 1930's film "Things to Come", "the leader" is shown speaking to the masses on what can only be considered a thin flat panel display. It took over 70 years for that dream to become a viable commercial reality that anyone here can buy.
What have you seen in the films over the decades that you wish you could really have right now?
1. Flying Cars - Been promised this and I want it!!!
2. Transporter beam - I'm sick of driving my flying car... I want instantaneous travel!!!
3. Personal Shields - No more pesky bullet wounds or mousquito bites.
4. Invisibility suit - Now you see me, now you don't!!!
What do you want???!!

I did this 3D illustration as a school project back in 1999 and it covered a lot of these things. |

The great "God" science was going to end all want, fear, hunger, poverty etc... only one little problem with that plan, the recalcitrence of man. Donald Fagen sang about it so well...

- and where the hell is the Monolith! It's 2 years past due!!!
