| T3 | agtpunx40 Sep 28, 2003 12:16 PM | | after resisting seeing this all summer, I finally saw it at the dollar theater near my girlfriends house. Maybe it was just the fact that my expectations were about as low as they have ever been for a movie, but I didn't think it was that bad, no T2 but hey. I thought they did a decent job showing that the new terminator was pretty much completely self aware, looking at her reflection and such, which had begun with the t1000 being semi-self aware, and ending with her trying to escape arnold not to kill, just to escape. Contast this with the original terminator who only acted to kill sarah conner, the real ultimate killing machine (and in continuing with the series: man creates self aware computer which leads to it's downfall, computer creates self aware computer which is unable to complete it's task partially because of this, thus leading to the computer's downfall). I was glad they did the proper ending although this certainly could have been done a little better, and I thought it was interesting to find out that once skynet takes over, it doesn't do anything creative (the scientists had already created the arnold (T800?) terminator in the background, and that plane thing). It seemed to be a decent action movie. What I really didn't like was the actor who played john connor, that insanely long car chase, and I thought arnold's terminator was thinking too much (ie. more self aware than he's supposed to be). |
