Adaptation - SpoilersKam

So just saw this the other night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Didn't want to spoil it for me so I didn't read many of the earlier posts on it, but having gone back and read the ones I could find, I'd guess that Donald was real. And that the movie was unique in that we were watching the making of the movie as the movie was progressing. So when Charlie asked Donald for help, and specifically when Donald told Charlie they had to go see Orlean in NYC, was when Donald "took over" writing the screenplay of the movie as we are watching it. That's why he could make up the supposed ticket information from watching Orlean through binoculars when there's no way he should have been able to see it. The dues ex machina coming in at the end with the gators, the guns, the chase, the drugs, the sex, the complete character epiphanies, everything that charlie would've despised to put in, but donald would've loved to. Makes for interesting thoughts no how charlie would've progressed through the "climax" of the movie. At least one explanation for the great (imo) change to the end of the film. Have read a bunh of people hating the ending of the movie, but am not sure if they got the whole point of why it ended the way it did. And while there are a bunch of possible explanations as to why it did end that way, I kinda like the concurrent writer change idea. Many other explanations I am sure, which is what makes it a great movie. And loved the dedication at the ending and the quote from The Three. Classic! Can't wait for Kaufman's next piece now too! What a writer!
