would a the klipsch quintet speakers plus a ksc-c1 center sound better than sony 315 towers and sony 215 bookshelf from best buy...which will give a clearer better bang for the buck

The Sony towers allegedly have poor built-in crossovers.

Speakers have limiters to which woofer/cone/tweeter produces certain frequencies of sound. 3-way speakers have 2 built-in crossovers and 2-way speakers have 1 built in cross over. Consider a 3-way tower with a 1 inch tweeter, 5 inch cone, and 8 inch cone. The built in crossovers might be set for "all sound frequencies above 5,000 Hz go to the tweeter, all frequencies of sound between 500 and 5,000 Hz go to the 5 inch midrange, and all frequencies below 500 Hz go to the 8 inch bass driver."

I hope that makes sense. In other words, the tweeter doesn't ever receive the low frequency sounds, etc., b/c of the crossover.
