i hear that dolby is showing off their new pro logic II at a convention in canada this weekend... can anyone reply with reactions/comments that you've heard about it?

im looking to get the Onkyo TXDS595 with DPLII as soon as its available, but im obviously a little weary about how good the new technology is going to sound... almost too good to be true you know?

If you like Dolby Digital, you will like DP II. They sound pretty simular. I have had three chances to hear it, and it is better than logic 7, circle surround(in digital form, not the analog decoder)Neo:6, and by far, regular DP. If you have alot of two channel sources( I have 4300 laserdisc's)it will be the best way to hear them. You get matrix 5.1, and no compression. It definately takes some getting use to however, because the decoder steers a great deal of information to the rear channels. If you are not use to it, it can be distracting.
