I returned a crappy Samsung DVD player that I thought was a great open box buy, and bought a open box Sony DP360 DVD player for under $100.00, after the $50.00 rebate. Then I went back later and picked up an open box Sony 545 receiver for $169.00. My deal ole mother loves her new HT system. |

I personally have a sony str de845 (reciever), sony sawm40 (sub), and sony dvp s360 (DVD) which combined cost me 285+129+129=543, 357 less than a marantz reciever. All components were highly recommended by this site. And does each component compete well with components costing more probably not but compared to components in the same price bracket they seem to hold there own. |
