| Which setup should i go with? | einhander Mar 26, 2001 8:59 AM | | I'm trying to narrow my selections down on receivers+ speakers and need some help. I'm considering going with either the ONkyo 575x, pioneer elite 33tx, or sony ES 333. Speakers I've narrowed down to the norh 4.0 setup in ceramic, 5.1 setup with prisms in front and drums in rear, or acoustic energy aegis one total setup. This system will be primarily for home theater. Any input would be appreciated. |
| With those | Bryan Mar 26, 2001 9:47 AM | | I'd go with the Onkyo. For the nOrhs, get ceramics all around and use the additional $100 to go towrds a quality sub. |
| ? about onkyo | einhander Mar 26, 2001 9:58 AM | | I was wondering if onkyo has the setup where you can input the speaker distance from the listener or do you have to do it with an SPL meter and AVIA test disc. Also, I was wondering if it was worth an extra 300 for the power and component switching of the onkyo 787? |

However, you will still need to (or should) calibrate using the SPL meter and Avia. As always, Power and convenience would be totally up to you. You must have a pretty good sized listening room if your considering the 787. Owning a 777, I can say I'm extremly satisfied with my purchase and would also have to say the extra 300 would be well worth it. Best Regards, R.Z. |

| Who has the 777 for a goo price? | rusty zipper Mar 26, 2001 9:35 PM | | I've been out of the loop for a little while, but you might try Best Price Audio and Video for Onkyo. http://www.bestpriceaudiovideo.com This is where I purchased my 777. Why don't you send them an e-mail asking for a quote. Best regards, R.Z. |
| ebay | GCM Mar 27, 2001 8:22 AM | | I found mine from ebay seller "ac-online". Bought it direct, not through auction. I've bought from him twice with no problems. It was refurbished for $600 at a time when most places were selling new for $1,000. They're probably cheaper now. |
