Aliasing phenomenon?

Does anybody hear about aliasing phenomenon? When you watch to a DVD movie (TV or projector) the lines are not smooth, i.e. they are like stairs.
Are there any additional devices to be attached to DVD player and/ or TV-projector?
If yes, do they worth the money?

Thanks in advance,
Daniel.

What you are seeing is caused by line-doubler in your TV or progressive-scan DVD player. Is you TV progressive-scan capable or your DVD player?

I don't think there is any thing out there that you can buy to improve your picture due to this problem. One improvment might be to by pass your TV's Line-doubler and, or switch your DVD player to 480i interlace mode. If this effect goes away, then it is your TV's Line-doubler or DVD's L.D.
One sure way to get ride of staircase phenomenon and keep the picture quality of progressive-scan signal would be to purchase a DVD player with 3:2 pull down method. But since you have a DVD player, I don't think that will be logical solution unless you choose other wise.

Please list your TV and DVD player and how they are set up and we will be glad to help more on your situation.

Take care.

Actually it is a Davis projector and a Primare DVD.
What is progressive scanning and what exactly I can do, should a buy some special image enhancer device?

Thx,
Daniel
