You had a post a few months ago that said you were on a quest to find a rptv but didnt what the useless features - speakers, amp,........ I was wondering if you ever found one. I am in the market for a 50" to 60" HDTV

Unfortunately, the answer is No. It seems that us HT fanatics still make up the minority when it comes to the numbers of people who buy televisons. My quest has not yet ended although it has been paused until after my wedding in September. We'll see what's left of the pie once we splurge on the event and the honeymoon and, if the pie is big enough, we'll be buying then (September). I came close to buying the 43" Hitachi HDTV ready set but decided against it once I saw the 50" and 53" offerings from Sony (nicer set and steeper price).

Good Luck on your quest!
Thanks - one more questionSoundsGood

Did you decide to go with 4:3 or 16:9 ratio? I cant make a decision. Naturally I like widescreen for movies, but it stinks for broadcast television like sporting events. 4:3 is great for broadcast and I dont mind the black bars all that much when watching a movie. I think Im leaning towards 4:3. Just not sure.
