You could do a lot worse than the mission 77C1 centre channel, available on Ubid.com at around $80-100 if your lucky. This is a $400 speaker. Check the audioreview.com reviews if you need convincing. Link below...

You might want to watch out for the Mission Centers they are selling on Ubid. Though I have not ordered one from them, I have seen the descriptions on their site. I think they are selling the 77c's and not the 77c1's.

The difference between the Mission 77c and c1 is that the 77c has a passive resonator and active bass while the 77c1 has two active bass units.

While the 77c has received great reviews, the 77c1 is a step up and sounds better. It's just the obfuscation on Ubid that bothers me.

Also, if you look closely at their description verbiage, they say the speaker is a 77c2. There is no such animal. Read for yourself:

Caveat emptor.

I like my Energy AC 300, retails for 450 but I'm sure you could get it online for less. It gets great reviews here, and Stereophile's guide to HT gave it an 'A' rating in their recommended components issue, most other A rated speakers cost a heckuva lot more.

Personally I would check ubid.com for the
klipsch KLFC7 . this is over a $600 speaker that has been going for around $265.
