| Whats the best AVR for 500 bucks? | KCID Aug 13, 2001 7:17 AM | | I'm looking for the best AV receiver I can buy for about $500.
Looking at the Harman Kardon 310 or the Onkyo 595. I've heard good things about both. One of the main things I'm looking for is reliability, reliability. Of course I want good sound too.
Thanks |

Oh, and read some more reviews of the Promedia's this weekend. Damn, they sound badass. I've got to upgrade to the Athlon 1.2 as well as new speaks, so I can't justify the total amount. Hoping the Cambridge Soundworks FPS2000 satisfy. |

| Denon AVR1802. (nt) | Josh Studrawa Aug 13, 2001 8:07 AM | | Which one are you waiting for? I'm going to snag the Antech 840 case, and the K7VZA mobo with the Athlon already on (pricewatch $153). I'm going for bang/buck since I've still got some credit cards I need to finish off, plus get the speakers. I'm STILL pissed they dicked me on Slot A! Too many parts to upgrade, HT took precedence last year, so my PC gets this year. |
| Denon AVR1802. (nt) | Adam Aug 13, 2001 8:16 AM | | Giga-Byte GA-7SDX, it's based on the SIS 733 chipset which lets me keep my 768mb of PC133 ram and still take advantage of the 266/200 front side bus for the higher clocked Athlons. |
| onkyo 696 is $578 it beats the 1801 | grunge Aug 13, 2001 10:37 AM | | Powered multi room, and you can get it for $578 NEW |
