Or, "How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Ubid."
Well guys, I have finished with all my purchases for now. You might call it "The U-bid Special."
Here is what I have:
Mains: Klipsch KG3.5s--Ubid @ $79 ea (total $250 with s+h ugh!)
Center: Klipsch KSC-C1--Ubid @ $89 (total $110)
Rears: Klipsch KSB1.1s--Ubid--I found 2 new 1.1s this morning on ubid and when I went to the bid screen there was a notice that said: "You have found the Magic Easter Egg. Be the first to bid and you will get it for $9!" So, I just got a pair of KSB1.1s for about $38 total, inclu s+h. Yippee!
Sub: None yet due to budgetary constraints.
DVD: Toshiba 2705--Best Buy $235 total.
Receiver: Since I saved a lot on the rears I upgraded from the Denon 1801 which I was about to buy to the 2801. About $480 with s+h. I haven't actually ordered it yet, but as soon as I finish writing this, that's where I'm going.

Grand Total: $1113.00

And to think I almost bought an HT-inna-box. BTW, this setup will be replacing my 12-year old JVC boombox which up till now has been my only stereo! Hopefully I will receive all this stuff in a timely manner and not have a "negative experience" with ubid.

Cheers,
BrianM

good to see someone staying within budget. Very hard to do.

Oh, and I don't want to be Mr. HT in a Box Spokesman, but for $400 they are a great start, or just a great buy for someone wanting 5.1 for movie watching. Too many people think you have to spend over a grand for HT (yes, those people that say "oh, you should just get 2 mains and save up for the rest"). Hey, what good is the Lobby scene in the Matrix in stereo? Just my rant, tagging along on your happiness :)

Brian, you are one lucky Ba$tard. Enjoy your purchase. BTW, Ubid is throwing some good deals also on the 3801.
