Help! feedback from halogen track lightscollarman
Aug 14, 2001 7:01 PM
I am having feedback from halogen lights hooked up to a dimmer switch. Does anyone have a solution. I have tried changing the dimmer to a 900 watt. I have made sure the lights and sound system are on two separate breakers. Will a line conditioner help? Will adding a different type of switch help?

I am runnng a Monster cable line protector with a Denon AVR5700.

Does anyone have a solution?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.
Your problem is your Dimmer-Switch.Smokey

Hi collarman

Dimmer Switches employ circuitry that is called "switching circuitry" that uses a combination of coils, capacitors and Resistors to cut voltage to your lamp without wasting ( lost power ) the unused voltages. These type of switches make "Buzzing" sound in your system.....is this what you are hearing?
If that is the case then he only solution would be to replace Dimmer Switches to other type of Switches that don't employ such a circuitry.

Good luck.
