Advice on Home Theater system upgradeSimonC

Hi !

I need some advice about upgrading my current 2-channel system !

What I have right now :
Parasound CDP-1000 CD Player
Sugden Optima 80 Integrated Amp
JM LAB Mégane Carat Speakers

Should I replace my CD with a DVD that can play music as well or just buy a cheap DVD and keep the cd player ? Is there a way to keep my amp and use some 3-channel amp + decoder or is it's better to change amp, if so, suggestions that might sound at least as good as the sugden ?

Thanks for the advices !!

Price range, hard to say, I can't spend $5000 on my upgrade, and don't want to buy some cheapo electronics at $299.95 !! So something that is a very good value for the price would be good !

I would like to keep my front speakers, but of course, I need rear speakers, ho, and for that matter, if possible, dipole wall-mountable speakers, so suggestions about this would be greatly appreciated also ! I will probably buy a center speaker + sub later. so right now it's mainly amp, decoder, rear speakers, dvd (keep cd or replace)

Thanks
