I like the features and would like to know opinions on the Sony ES line. I am Looking at a Sony 333 ES. I have Paradigm speakers and a Panasonic RP56 DVD and a Denon HDCD CD player. I also own a Sony 53" Videoscope and need to replace an old Kenwood Pro Logic for a 5.1 Receiver. I would apprieciate any help on Sony receivers anyone can give. Please don't blast me!!! |

I think you should avoid the V333ES since it is a year old and the new DA line is supposed to offer a new redesigned amp that is reminiscent of the old DA7ES. What's your budget for a new receiver? That will help us out. |

A good friend of mine has the old Sony DA30ES Receiver from a couple of years ago and it sounds great, got a good review from Sound & Vision. He loves it and it really impressed me. I would like to spend no more than $800.00. |

I had two ES555 units that had very bad hiss. Also the video signal would not switch properly, the volume control went up and down by itself, the LCD remote was useless.
I sent them both back and got a Marantz SR-19EX. What a great unit. No problems at all and very very good sound, much better that the Sony in every respect. The remote is fantastic as well.
My two cents worth, hope it helps.
