In answer to your question, yes it is an excellent receiver. It is very musical (more so than the Denon, IMO) and sounded great for HT. However, it is not upgradeable, and you need a second amp if you ever want to do 7.1. If you can get it for a bargain, and can live w/out DPLII and do not want to go 7.1 then go for it. However, its' MSRP is very high in comparison to the Denon 5800 and the B&K AVR 307 (which is my choice for upgrading my receiver). Happy listening. |
