Oct 6, 2001 4:14 PM | | Anyone have experience with this new set? I have seen two in stores but the picture was not great on either of them on with broadcast Direct TV which I have at home. Question is how will things look from 8 to 12 feet away? I suppose I could just figure its a Sony which always have been pretty good to me (present KV-32S66 is the best broadcast picture I've ever seen)but the KV40 XBR weighs 286 lbs and will squeeze into my entertainment center with 1/8th inch to spare and I'd hate get it all in there and find its a disappointment! |

Unless you have DEEP pockets and are a "gamblin' man", I recommend that you avoid this monster at all costs (or at any price).
Chances are it will have geometry problems that will be impossible to correct, and if the CRT should fail - the set becomes a giant doorstop! A very risky purchase in my opinion.
