| AVR receivers | Ches Oct 7, 2001 1:13 PM | | I am about to buy a new AVR receiver. This group distinguishes itself with the level of knowledge I have read in these columns. I would appreciate your views on which product I should consider. My own research has narrowed down to a Sony 444ES or the Denon 2801 or Denon ?
PS I took your advice(s) last year and bought a Denon DCM 370 and am totally happy with it! |

2. This years sony has scrapped the 3 AVR in the ES line and are going with the DA55ES and the DA33ES.
3. Denon has replaced the 2801 with the 2802.
4. What's your over all budget, would you be open to buying from an online retailer, and are you interested in 6.1. |

My budget is $900 CD ($450 US !!) and have bought online before with good experience. I just wonder if Sony is over rated vs the Denon and Sony is a heck of a lot more money up here. |
