Need help with a Pioneer receiver, fellas...Josh Studrawa

A lady I work with is going to buy a receiver for her husband for Xmas. They are going to piece together a HT setup. Though I am trying to work them into the Mirage/Denon line-up, I first need to show them that their first choice (Pioneer) is not equal to the Denon 1802. So, I need to know what Pioneer receiver w/ 100 watts (lady's spec) has all the bells and whistles as the Denon 1802. They'll buy it locally too, so if you can just tell me model numbers I'd appreciate it. If I can show them that the Denon 1802 is the best bang/buck (under $400), I can work them into the Tweeter deal. I'd really hate to have them go HTB with that deal out there, or spend a lot of money over time on a piece here, a piece there.

Thanks.

I know most dont like the Pioneer. I have the model VSX-810S I went for an auditioned full set of Paradigm (CC370,Moniter 7,Mini moniters,PS1000) and they were on a Yamaha RX-1000 at the store I just knew I was going to have to replace that receiver with a Marantz or Yamaha or Denon that this store sells also. I told them what receiver I had and they told me dont worry you have plenty of receiver for the speakers. To mak long story short I went and rented Gladiator used the same scenes that we used in the store. it was just as clear the effects were just as good. This receiver has the DTS,DD decoders it also supports a rear center speaker. Stereo: 100 Watts x 2 Surround: 100 Watts x 6
100 Watts to 6 Channels? Yes: the VSX-810S sends equal high power to 6 channels, and it's compatible with Dolby Digital/dts and the new dts-ES theater surround, so you'll hear every single word, every noise and sound effect in a movie. Plus, digital noise reduction in all channels and a 96kHz/24-bit D-A converter provide even higher sonic purity. Now this Now this dont mean in another year I wont change receivers and go with the Yamaha like the the RX-2200 for 1200 MSRP with the same Except it has DPL-2 This in MHO on the Pioneer right now Today I am very pleased with it and the price was 399.00 for the receiver
