| Upgrading speakers from Energy Take 5 system | tnguyenmdc Nov 30, 2001 8:16 AM | | Hello everyone, A $1000 question. I currently have the Take 5 with a 10" Energy sub. Recently upgraded my receiver to the Denon 3802, and now am itching to upgrade to better speakers for both music and HT (90% HT and 10% music). I know that recommendation for speakers is very subjective, but I would like to at least get a head start on what I should be concentrating on. On the other hand, please tell me if there's NOTHING out there worth upgrading to, if I have to stick with my $1K budget. Thanks much. |

Those Energys are pretty good, maybe you want to check the SVS sub out? |

I was looking for the same thing you were. I am limited to the local hi-fi electronic store. For the my budget I got the Boston Acoustics CR75 for mains, CR65 for rears and the CRC center channel. I kept those for a few months and traded them in for the Boston Acoustics VRM-950 and matching center channel, so far they sound nice. I auditioned the 950s and the Klipsch reference series it was pretty close but the horns on the Klipsch were pretty harsh for some of my CDs especially with women's vocals. |
