Almost done - connection questionMark Wo

I'm almost done with hooking up the new Yamaha RX-V2200 and am down to one more question. Thanks to all of you who have helped me out so far, this new HT system is great thanks to all the questions answered by this list.

My last task is to hook-up my cable box and VCR. I presently have the cable coax coming in from outside the house to the cable box. From the box, I have a coax going to VCR In and OUT from the VCR to the TV. This allows me to have sound going to the TV from the VCR and Cable box without having to turn on the Receiver. I also have RCA jacks coming from both the cable box and the vcr into the back of the receiver so that should I choose to watch TV or a video tape, I can use the PLII features of the receiver and get surround effects.

Here's my question. The Yamaha has a nice feature of On Screen Display. When I watch the Cable or a Video, it would be nice to access the On Screen Display to adjust whatever needs adjusting and to see the settings on the TV (my stereo gear is in a different room than the TV) I have pre-wired extra coax wire from the stereo gear room to the TV so I can always run the rca video out from the yamaha to the tv. I do not like this idea as I would then have to switch the input on the TV to whatever input I ran this coax cable into.

This is what I am trying to do. I saw the Dayton Video RCA jack to S-Video plug Converter on the Parts Express web site. I already have an S-Video cable going between the receiver monitor out and the TV for the DVD player. I am thinking that I can take this Dayton converter and plug it into the s-video input jacks on both the cable in and vcr in on the yamaha. This way, when I want to use the on screen display, I just hit the cable or vcr button on the remote and I'll be able to see the on screen feature on the same input as the DVD S-video cable is plugged into on the tv. Will this work?
