JURASSIC PARK DTS PURCHASE...funkycold
Aug 14, 2001 8:34 AM
i while back a read about the problems with the dts version of jurassic park so i went ahead and got the dolby digital version. well as soon as heard there was a reprint that fixed the problem, i posted mine on ebay. so that brings me to today. at around 11 in the morning (i have the day off) i went to my local audio/video store to try to find a copy of the new version. as you all prob know, there is no real way to tell from the outside if the disc being held inside is from the original pressing or one of the new ones. well, sure enough, they had several copies available. all of a sudden i began to panic. "what if i get the old one???? i dont want to have to go through the hassle of exchanging it with universal." well soon enough, i regained my cool and remembered the hints id seen on this forum on how to increase your odds of finding the new version (no ps2 sticker on the front, the top sticker saying (ws)(dts)...) there was indeed 1 copy that looked like that, with various others that said something else on the top and had the ps2 sticker. so i went ahead and bought it, rushed to the car, and opened her up...YES!!! the numbers on the interior of the disc matched with the new pressing! at this point, id say those minor stickers on the front are a sure way of knowing what disc you have. now if only i had a receiver with a dts decoder...

ps-ill soon be getting the marantz sr5200. ill let you know how it is. thanks for all the help everyone!
