| Is 6channel output less spl than digital optical in the LFE | eno45 Oct 7, 2001 11:28 AM | | I just got a new JVC dvd with DVD-audio.
First movie playback from both 6 channel output(6 analog rca cables from JVC decoder) and Digital optical wire sound the same in the 5 main speakers. Not a big difference at all between the two decoders in volume. Now the big difference lies in the signal to the subwoofer when using the 6 channel output from the JVC. I have to turn my gain on my subwoofer up about twice than what it needs if I am using the digital optical wire. See If I was only going to watch movies there wouldn't be a problem and I wouldn't of bought 6 rca cables for the JVC 6 channel output and would strictly use the Digital optical wire, BUT since DVD-audio requires the 6 analog wires why is there such a loss in signal going to my sub. All the JVC settings are set for the maximum output to the subwoofer for bass response. IS there a known issue for less LFE(bass) reponse while using the RCA cables(6 channel)
than using the digital optical???? Let me know If you have any ideas. Thank you |

You may also have to level match the DVD players 6 ch. output as you did the receiver but need to do it in the DVD menu. |
